Types and importance of group dynamics.

A group is a small number of peoples working together to achieve the common goals. It is plays an important role in educational institution to achievement of the mission statement. The group dynamic is refers to the communication in existing group.

Group is essential for an institution to achieve its goals. It is network of people who interact with each other. Its also very important for nursing staff, educational staff to effective working or learning.

Definition of group dynamics.

A group is refers to two or more individual interact each other and they having a common behavior to achieve a purposeful object.

Types of group dynamics.

An educational institution is mainly consists of three types of groups as follows-

what are types of group dynamics

#1. Formal groups.

Formal groups are usually known as the functional or official group. These groups are usually made by institutions, office, court, bank etc. Because of different purposes.

Formal groups members are having a common attitudes. Because they are works in a same group or place and members are plans to achieve a common goals. These groups are permanent and long time. They has rules & regulations and policies. They are works in a discipline manner. So, the formal groups are very needs for an institution.

#2. Task groups.

The task groups are usually hard because in these groups are having limited time for achievement of goals. The task groups are not permanent and group members are works hard to develop a solution.

#3. Informal groups.

The informal groups are not exactly permanent group. There is limited time for achieving goals. These are mainly consists of persons and social relations which is not important for an institution. It is not possible to achieve a better goals through the informal groups.

The informal groups are of following types-

i) Interest group.

The interest group members are not working for common goals.

ii) Membership group.

Here the individuals are together and helps each other. And they are works in a same discipline.

iii) Friendship group.

The individuals are usually same age people of its members and they are work together. And they are work in a friendship manner.

iv) Reference group.

Here the people shape there beliefs, values, ideas in order to draw support from the group as such.

Importance of groups in educational institutions.

  • A group plays an important role in educational institution because without group it is not possible to run.
  • It is helps to achievement of institutional goals.
  • Now literacy rate is increasing because of modern educational institutions but in this time unable to manage the institutions because more students are there. So, the group is very needs for the institutions.
  • A teacher can not teaches multiple subjects. To teaching different subjects a group teacher is needed for an institution.
  • The group is needs for effective teaching learning activity.
  • It is needs for developing the academic projects.
  • A group has ability to satisfy the individual needs of it members.
  • Group is needs for the managing of institution or organization.
  • The decision made by a group, it would be more beneficial rather than being taken by an individual.
  • Group has more problem solving skills rather than single individual. Group consists of more people and there is obviously ideas and thinking skills are more. Because every individual has different ideas, opinions and thinking skills.
